Job description

Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Clive Grunshaw, is seeking to recruit a Chief Executive & Monitoring Officer.


With PCC Elections and a General Election having just taken place, this is an exciting time to join the Office of the Police & Commissioner (OPCC). Working to the PCC, this is a vast and varied role from being monitoring officer, to leading the OPCC, developing partnership working and overseeing the commissioning of services.


You will lead the OPCC and have direct responsibility for ensuring the PCC has full executive and professional support in carrying out his duties and responsibilities comprehensively and lawfully.


You will support and advise the PCC in ensuring effective development, delivery and measurement of the Police and Crime Plan 2024/2029, developing and enabling strategies and identified priorities.


The successful candidate will be a proven leader, skilled at building strategic partnerships, with significant experience and understanding of the delivery of operational policing and political awareness.


You will have the ability to deal with diverse and sensitive issues whilst working in a fast-paced environment.


Please note, this post is Politically Restricted under the provisions of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. Certain employees of Police Authorities are subject to restrictions on the political activities they are able to undertake e.g. political membership of a local authority. In addition, the Local Government Officers (Political Restrictions) Regulations 1990 specify certain other political activities which the holder of a politically restricted post cannot undertake such as canvassing.
