The Hotels

We are thrilled to soon be operating two of Edinburgh's most iconic properties. These hotels, located in the heart of the city, offer luxury accommodations, blending heritage charm with contemporary style. In the coming months, they will be rebranded under a leading international hotel brand, presenting exciting growth opportunities for all team members.

What You’ll Be Doing

Ensuring Operational Excellence

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the engineering department, managing preventative and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.
  2. Develop and implement comprehensive PPM schedules for all building systems and equipment.
  3. Use building management systems and IT tools for maintenance tracking, reporting, and compliance management.
  4. Manage contractor relationships, ensuring work meets quality, safety, and budget standards.

Driving Health, Safety, and Compliance

  1. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and staff training on fire safety, first aid, and emergency response.
  2. Ensure all health, safety, and environmental standards are met, with up-to-date records of incidents and corrective actions.
  3. Manage certifications and inspections, including fire safety systems, PAT testing, gas safety checks, and more.

Managing Budgets and Resources

  1. Develop and control the engineering department budget, driving cost efficiencies without compromising standards.
  2. Lead procurement and contract negotiations for maintenance services, equipment, and supplies.
  3. Support the annual budgeting process with accurate maintenance forecasts and expenditure tracking.

Leading a Skilled Team

  1. Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering continuous professional development.
  2. Implement onboarding programs, set clear performance targets, and assign specific responsibilities for key operational areas.
  3. Develop succession plans to ensure service continuity and knowledge retention.

About You
