Chief Compliance Officer (M&A Advisory)

Location: London (hybrid working - 3 days in the office)

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Chief Compliance Officer to join their team in London. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and effective management of broader regulatory risks. The successful candidate will also act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, providing expert advice to senior management. In addition, this role includes responsibilities as a Chief Operating Officer, overseeing day-to-day operations and contributing to business growth and development.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain a robust compliance framework, including policies and procedures, designed to ensure adherence to FCA regulations and other relevant laws.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the company's operations.
  • Act as the main point of contact with the FCA on all regulatory compliance matters.
  • Oversee the company's AML systems and controls.
  • Ensure completion of relevant training programs for compliance and AML.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and AML risks across the company's operations.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on compliance and AML-related matters.
  • Oversee the investigation and resolution of compliance and AML breaches or incidents.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to enhance the company's compliance functions.
  • Assist in overseeing all aspects of the company's operations.

What you bring:

  • Extensive experience in compliance and preferably in an FCA-regulated financial services firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations, AML laws, and the SM&CR framework.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across the organisation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior management and regulatory bodies.
