The Company

Our main business line Tradebe Environmental Services is an international leader focused on recycling, energy recovery and circular economy, managing all different environmental liabilities in a sustainable way. We provide services to the entire industrial complex with high safety and quality standards.

We are looking for a Site Chemist to join us on site in Fawley, Hampshire - with some occasional travel to other sites.

The role

  1. As a member of the site chemist team, you are principally assessing incoming waste streams and allocating appropriate disposal routes safely, effectively and without adverse environmental effects.
  2. You will liaise closely with key stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient process to develop and maintain the highest possible standards.
  3. All employees are required to perform all their duties in accordance with legislative requirements and the company's objectives. The work is predominantly based outdoors on site, working in all elements.
  4. Ensuring the correct labelling, segregation, and storage of hazardous waste, as per the site storage philosophy and updating the relevant stock control systems.
  5. Collaborating effectively with key stakeholders daily to solve complex problems swiftly.
  6. Following the non-conformance process should a material break our caveats or have another issue, confirming that the right stakeholders are engaged to achieve a successful resolution.
  7. Ensuring acceptance and dispatch operations are in line with the company's BMS, ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 systems.
  8. Supporting and controlling the site's analytical testing and assessment requirements including all EA/UU technical issues.
  9. Identifying and reporting on opportunities and trends in the site's technical control/analysis systems.

The person

Essential Skills:

  1. Degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject. Candidates with equivalent experience in a related field will also be considered.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional interpersonal and collaborating skills.
  3. Great attention to detail with professional, positive and team centred attitude.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Experience using a SAP based system.
  2. IOSH Managing Safety.
  3. FLT licence.
