Job Title:

CHEMICAL OPERATOR

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Follow procedures to safely produce and package batches of chemical products that meet quality specifications.
  2. Utilize automated control systems along with manual operations to operate process equipment.
  3. Weigh and accurately charge various chemicals to process vessels.
  4. Identify, troubleshoot and diagnose process and equipment issues.
  5. Perform light maintenance, prepare equipment for others to safely perform maintenance and issue work permits.
  6. Complete batch related documentation and production entries.
  7. Perform daily housekeeping tasks and maintain an organized work environment.
  8. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
  9. Ability to respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications.
  10. Ability to work rotating shifts.
  11. Ability to respond to call outs and work overtime as needed.
  12. Commitment to safe and environmentally responsible operation of all aspects of a batch chemical process.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  1. Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. 2+ years of experience in a chemical production environment.
  3. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  4. Experience with PLC’s or DCS systems for plant controls.
  5. Comfortable working with Flammable and Other Hazardous Chemicals.
  6. Experience with forklift operation.
  7. Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position including climbing stairs, ladders, lifting 55 pounds, connecting hoses, operating manual valves, wearing FRC uniforms and full-face respirator (clean-shaven).
