As a Chef Manager for Sodexo at Nuffield Hospital Hereford, you are also a natural leader and a food safety expert. Your passion for food and organizational excellence will lead an entire food and beverage production. You’ll lead a team who pride themselves on delivering a high-quality service to patients and staff 365 days a year. This is a hands-on chef and business management role; you will get involved in the day-to-day kitchen duties so be prepared and happy to get involved!

As a Chef Manager you will join our dedicated catering team, who produce outstanding food using the finest and freshest ingredients in this exclusive innovative private healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar environment, be customer facing, and have a passion for innovation, who is skilled in fresh food delivery and passionate about food. What you'll do:

  • Manage a team of approx. 10 to deliver a high-quality service to patients and staff 365 days a year. 
  • Ensure food is delivered in a clean safe environment ensuring all areas of safeguard, EHO and Nuffield policies are adhered to.
  • Manage all aspects of staffing and ensure the smooth running of patient and staff feeding. 
  • Liaise with client to ensure all requests are completed within the required timeframe. 
  • Attend client meetings and represent Sodexo.
  • Comply with Food and Health and Safety Regulations 
  • Manage the Sodexo systems such as payroll, accounting, billing and HR
  • Work with the onsite staff to ensure employee engagement and welfare is managed.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience of leading a team within a comparable service environment
  • City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent NVQ
  • Financial awareness and understanding - cost control, revenues & margin within a Catering service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, colleagues, clients.
  • Organised and be able to deliver on time. 
  • Track record of developing and leading a team 
  • Good written and verbal communication 
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite 
  • Experience in managing client relationships.
  • Food Safety Level 3
