Chef de Partie (Variable Hours)

Calling all chefs looking for flexible and varied hours with the security of a permanent contract! Do you want to work with creative chefs using locally sourced ingredients to create beautiful, tasty food? Are you looking for a role with no late nights or split shifts?

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to assist in the production of all food served at the RSC; you will take responsibility for preparing, producing and running the garnish, larder, hot or pastry sections in the kitchen. Working under the guidance of the Head Chef and as part of a happy team, you will ensure that the food delivered to our customers is of the highest quality. We are proud to prepare, bake and create all food from scratch and work closely with some great local suppliers.

In our beautiful Rooftop Restaurant customers can join us for lunch, dinner, pre-theatre dinner, afternoon tea or our famous Sunday roast!

This role is offered as a variable hour, permanent position with no breakfast or split shifts. We can offer shifts between 9am - 7pm, including weekends. We can be flexible and discuss what hours you are looking for.

Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, key areas of responsibility include:

1. Working with all chefs in the creation and development of a leading food offer across all the Catering estate.
2. Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes using agreed ingredients during every service.
3. Assisting Senior Chefs in developing new dishes and menus, assisting with any menu changes and food tastings.
4. Monitoring portion control and wastage to maintain profit margins.
5. Ensuring full compliance with all food safety, hygiene and legislative regulations.
6. Working effectively as a whole catering team.

We are looking for:

1. Previous experience of food preparation and leading a section during service.
2. Trained to at least Level 2 Food Hygiene.
3. Ability to follow instructions precisely and consistently.
4. A self-motivated and proactive approach to work with the ability to work flexibly, multitask and deliver in a pressurised environment.
5. A good understanding of all HACCP and Health and Safety legislation.
6. Food Safety and Health and Safety qualifications.
