What you will do:

  1. Implement and maintain all aspects of the kitchen, including menus, hygiene, health and safety, cleaning schedules, and waste control, ensuring the kitchen team are trained and supported in all areas.
  2. Recruit the kitchen team promptly and in-line with company policy to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
  3. Supervise and develop all kitchen colleagues to maximize their potential.
  4. Ensure that colleagues undertake and maintain their mandatory and regulatory training.
  5. Conduct personal development reviews for all kitchen colleagues in line with company policy.
  6. Complete monthly audits for the kitchen, reporting any findings to the home manager.
  7. Prepare menus for the residents, taking into account content, balance, color, and nutritional values, in line with the agreed budget.
  8. Consult with residents on a regular basis to ensure that their needs and choices are being met.
  9. Attend resident/relative meetings.
  10. Maintain the agreed stock levels of food.
  11. Implement and maintain an agreed deep cleaning schedule for the kitchen.
  12. Carry out stock takes at the end of each month.
  13. Implement a four-weekly rota.
  14. Work within agreed budget guidelines on staff costs and consumables and cooperate in any action necessary to keep within budget.
