Job description

Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Location: Cheltenham, GL51

Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Contract: Temporary with the view to go permanent

About the Role: Axcis Education is working in partnership with a Cheltenham school specialising in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment, tailored to meet individual needs. Students may display challenging behaviours, requiring staff who are resilient, adaptable and dedicated to encouraging positive outcomes.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience with SEMH or SEND or with children or vulnerable adults is required.
  2. Ability to manage challenging behaviour with a calm, proactive approach.
  3. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  4. Patient, adaptable and committed to supporting children's progress.

Ideal Candidates: We are keen to hear from individuals with experience in:

  1. Nurseries, colleges, youth clubs or residential settings.
  2. Supporting SEND students, including those with Autism, ADHD or behavioural challenges.
  3. Psychology, sociology, sports, music, art, or drama backgrounds.

Personal experience with SEND is also welcomed!

Additional Information:

  • Pay: £90+ per day.
