Job description

Job Title: Centreless Grinder

Shift: Mornings/Afternoons or Days

Rate: The rate is negotiable, finding the right candidate is their priority

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Centreless Grinder to accurately set and machine parts using CNC controlled grinding machines to company deadlines, to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. To accurately set and machine parts using CNC controlled centreless grinding machines to company deadlines
  2. Flexibility to move between departments and machines where needed
  3. In-process checks using measuring equipment to include micrometers, shadow graph, laser micrometer and digital callipers
  4. Ability to read engineering drawings
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in an engineering environment - preferably within a CNC grinder setter role
  2. Time management - ability to manage a variety of tasks at the same time
  3. Must be willing to work a rotating shift pattern
  4. Team orientated, demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the Company and colleagues
  5. Must be able to work independently and flexibly, using own initiative
  6. Must be able to demonstrate high level of efficiency and attention to detail and quality
  7. Good standard of English and Maths
  8. Ability to read engineering drawings
  9. Machining of parts in diverse materials with tolerances to 0.010mm / 10 microns
  10. In-process checks using measuring equipment to include micrometers, shadow graph, laser micrometer and digital callipers
  11. Flexibility to move between departments and machines where needed
  12. Ability to operate two or more machines simultaneously
  13. Following company procedures and work instructions for manufacture
  14. Ensuring records relating to machining are documented and maintained
  15. Maintain and record TPM of machines
  16. Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines
  17. Flexibility to work overtime at short notice
  18. Taking care to ensure customer proprietary information remains confidential at all times
  19. Being aware of quality requirements of the business at all times
  20. Being aware of health and safety responsibilities in own and others' activities
  21. Adhering to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment, systems and materials at all times
