RSPB Conwy nature reserve is a wetland on the east bank of the Conwy estuary, created from material dug out during the construction of the A55 road tunnel between 1986 and 1991. First opened to the public in 1995, the reserve is home to various incredible wildlife, including warblers, waders, and wildfowl. The perfect place for families to discover nature!
All our work on the reserve is planned via the use of rotas and will include weekend and bank holiday working. Full induction and training will be provided, with opportunities to learn about the running of a busy visitor centre and nature reserve operation.
Our cafe and visitor centre operations are a crucial part of what we do here, encouraging visitors to explore the reserve, and giving them a great visitor experience.
You will be able to communicate well with our visitors and offer excellent levels of customer care. Duties will include working on our meet and greet operation, welcoming visitors to the reserve, giving out information, and encouraging visitors to support our work.
You will be a part of our cafe team, helping to serve customers, and undertaking other duties typical of a busy cafe and kitchen operation. You will support other visitor centre teams as required.
This is a permanent, flexible hours role.
Two positions are available, basic hours vary according to season, with the opportunity to pick up extra hours to cover for annual leave/ sickness absence as required:
