A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of Central Logistics Unit Operative, to join a small team based at Nursling. This role would see a successful candidate working within a warehouse environment, assist in the movement of Ambulances and conducting Trust wide deliveries. Day to day duties can include, picking orders for distribution, receiving deliveries from external suppliers, moving Ambulances to frontline locations, delivering medical consumables and equipment to Stations. Candidates must have experience of logistics and hold a B driving license as a minimum.

Main duties of the job
- To undertake work related to stock control in a secure, efficient and effective manner, such that all records either manual or electronic are accurate and ensuring clear audit trails.
- To ensure that all stocks, anywhere in the supply chain, e.g. in the warehouse, during transportation or being delivered, are secure, safely positioned and do not represent a hazard to others.
- To receive goods into stock, reporting any discrepancies in deliveries immediately or as soon as possible after the discovery is made and recording expired or damaged stock.
- To respond to any inquiries appropriately, issuing stock items as necessary using tact and diplomatic skills when requests fall outside of the protocols or procedures of the department; when necessary escalating any issues to the Logistics & Distribution Manager or Supervisor.
- To ensure vehicles are clean, safe, secure and ready for use by the next operative when any delivery is complete, reporting any faults or defects in accordance with trust policy.
- To ensure that Trust policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines are maintained and observed at all times whilst on duty, both on and off site.
- To take on any additional reasonable duties as requested by the Logistics & Distribution Manager or Supervisor.
- Where required, to drive up to C1 Category Ambulances to and from frontline locations.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
- Category B Driving Licence
- Evidence of a broad experience in operating within a warehouse environment.
- Category C1 Driving Licence.
- Pallet Truck Training.
Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience of managing the flow inventory and distribution
- Previous experience of accurate information recording
- Knowledge of stock control and inventory processes.
- Knowledge of using various IT software including Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Access.
- Knowledge of stock rotation.
- Knowledge of the NHS and its consumable equipment.
- Knowledge of the Trusts Geographic's.
