Are you ready to lead one of our UK cement manufacturing plants? Tarmac is seeking an exceptional Plant Manager to join our team in Dunbar, Scotland. In this critical leadership role, you will drive operational excellence, sustainability, and performance while aligning with our company values, objectives, and behaviours.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Safety First: Foster a culture of safety and health excellence, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  2. Strategic Vision: Develop and execute a long-term vision for the plant, setting ambitious goals for reliability, productivity, and sustainability.
  3. Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership, building a high-performing team and driving a customer-focused performance culture.
  4. Operational Excellence: Ensure production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are met while optimising processes for maximum efficiency.
  5. Compliance: Maintain full compliance with UK legislation, particularly health & safety, environmental, and employment laws.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company with local authorities, communities, suppliers, and other stakeholders to build trust and collaboration.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Lead change programmes and champion continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of the plant.
  8. Financial Stewardship: Manage operating and capital budgets with a focus on cost reduction and efficient resource allocation.
  9. Asset Management: Oversee the maintenance and optimisation of the plant's physical assets, including quarry reserves.

Qualifications & Experience
Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Business.
  2. Strong understanding of engineering and business principles.

Experience:

  1. Proven senior management experience in the cement or heavy industry.
  2. Expertise in cement chemistry, manufacturing, quarry operations, and maintenance management.
  3. Solid knowledge of ISO standards and certification processes.

Technical Skills:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
  2. Strong financial management and budget control capabilities.
