Job description

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and successful technology company as a CCTV Installation Engineer.

You will work as part of a mobile team, on a night-time shift pattern, installing structured fibre and copper cabling, wi-fi access points, and high-level bracket mounted IP CCTV cameras. Providing a best-in-class swimming pool safety solution through reliable connectivity, robust infrastructure, and precision installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installing, building, and upgrading data rack cabinets
  2. Installing copper and fibre structure cabling systems to Industry standard
  3. Installing CCTV systems, including cabling, hardware, monitors, and cameras
  4. Installing wi-fi and network hardware
  5. Evaluating, diagnosing, and troubleshooting systems or installations to identify and rectify any functionality problems or defects
  6. Maintaining, configuring, and repairing systems, hardware, and peripheral devices
  7. Testing systems, identifying issues, and making necessary modifications
  8. Understanding customer needs and provide advice, and an engineering service suitable to meet the customer needs in full
  9. Provide onsite customer service and support
  10. Communicating with customers, and team colleagues as necessary, to provide a complete customer service on time and in full
  11. Training the customer representatives and other users on the system functionality
  12. Professional, courtesy and positive can-do conduct always

Health, Safety, Environment Quality Focus:
  1. Maintain detailed installation, inspection, and repair records, including asset tagging of all hardware for entry into Service and Support System
  2. Comply with the safety requirements, norms, and regulations throughout the installation and aftercare services, including method statements and RAMS
  3. All installation work to be quality controlled and each stage of the installation delivered to the highest standards
  4. Proper and safe use of tools, equipment, and PPE

Finance Focus:
  1. Care and attention to the effective and efficient use of materials, tools and equipment
  2. Optimise the working hours to deliver each assignment to the best of your skills and abilities
  3. Flag any opportunities for improved ways of working

Based South or West Yorkshire, salary is £40k p.a. inclusive of night working rate, plus Team Van.

The role will be predominantly night-shift within the period 8pm - 8am.

Weekly working away from home will be a feature (Mon-Thurs, home Fri).

Standard contracted weekly working hours will be 42 hours.

Travel and subsistence will be provided.

Branded company vehicle + fuel card will be provided.

Your skills and experience:
  1. Relevant Electrical qualification, at least an NVQ Level 3 equivalent
  2. Experienced working at heights, scaffolding, ladders, automatic lifters
  3. Experience installing sub-bracketing using Channel Support Bracket
  4. Shift working, typically between 20:00 to 06:00
  5. Working as part of 2-person, on-site Installation team
  6. Demonstrable ability to work in an organised and safe manner, maintaining the highest standards when unsupervised
  7. Installation of IP CCTV cameras and mounted brackets
  8. Mobile and flexible to working regionally with occasional cross-regional working
  9. Experienced in certified structured data cable installations
  10. Experienced in data rack building, termination, and data rate upgrade/tidying
  11. Able swimmer, the role will involve working on platforms erected over swimming pools
  12. IPAF 3a, 3b MEWP
  13. City Guilds Fibre Optic Cabling components and system
  14. ECS card preferably to Gold level
  15. CSCS card
  16. SMSTS
  17. CNCI certified
  18. UK driving licence

Desirable competencies / experience:
  1. Familiar with network switching
  2. Familiar with wi-fi technologies and access point installation
