We operate 24/7, and as such, you are required to work flexible hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE, and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes' high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.

Position: CCTV Drainage Engineer

Location: Beckton Treatment Works (Ilford, East London)

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 4 days on, 4 days off

Salary: £29,000 per annum (made up of basic pay, overtime, on-call allowance, and bonuses)

About the Role:

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer-focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

1. Travelling to residential sites in a two-man crew, around the North London area, in one of our custom-equipped fleet of high-tech vans.
2. Surveying the network of drainage systems.
3. Assessing pipe conditions to produce high-quality reports with the help of state-of-the-art drain surveying equipment.
4. Ensuring jobs attended are completed.
5. Troubleshooting any problems that arise on the job.
6. Liaising with the team of Technical Specialists regarding access and equipment issues.
7. Ensuring safe site setup.
8. Updating the job notes on VISTEC.
9. Ensuring photos are taken of the setup, inspection chamber, and whole site.
10. Delivering good customer service.
11. Maintaining good H&S practice while carrying out works.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be hardworking, respectful, and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High-Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
