Job description

We are recruiting for a number of Catering Team Leaders to join our Catering Team here in our Amesbury Distribution Centre.

You will support the Catering Manager in leading our onsite Catering Team to provide an excellent catering experience for our Home Bargains colleagues and visitors. You will also ensure the delivery of canteen performance targets and that all food safety and health and safety standards are met. You will take responsibility for financial control and accountability of cash handling, wage cost control and stock and order budgeting.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a fast paced catering or hospitality environment, leading a team and is passionate about providing customers with a great dining experience. You will be welcoming and approachable with excellent communication skills, acting as an ambassador for the function.

Package:
£12.10 per hour
Part time - 31 hrs per week
The above may include working rotational weekends
5.6 weeks paid holiday per year rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service

Job Overview:
Manage the operation on shift, ensuring all Team Members are allocated to tasks and that the service is delivered.
Communicate professionally and promptly with Team Members, updating on key changes to daily kitchen activities.
Ensure preparation on and presentation of all food to the required food safety standards.
Ensure compliance with COSHH and all food safety; ensure adherence to all health and safety compliance.
Ensure compliance with all company administration and monitoring procedures:
  • Recording of food temperatures
  • Delivery records
  • Recording of fridge and freezer temperatures
  • Food storage and labelling in accordance with guidelines
  • Daily administration of bookwork including Food Safety Diaries and allergen management including Natasha’s law

Share inspiration of new menu ideas.
Coach and mentor Team Members.

Minimum Criteria To Apply:
  • Minimum Level 2 Hygiene certificate and Level 2 Food Safety certificate
  • Knowledge of food production methods
  • Experience in a fast paced catering or hospitality environment and leading or supervising a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Food safety, COSHH, health and safety and food allergen knowledge
  • Stock management and storage/budgeting experience
  • Ability to organize and prioritise daily work load
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and remain calm within a fast paced environment
