About The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team, reporting to the Group Head of Purchasing & Supply Chain. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process for key categories, including beverages, bespoke sauces, Menu NPD, desserts, and Italian prepped goods (excluding retail).

The successful candidate must be solution-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and take a proactive approach. Flexibility with working hours and the ability to travel across the UK and EU is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Category Ownership: Manage supplier relationships and sourcing strategies for core categories to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and availability.
  2. New Product Development & Innovation: Collaborate with culinary, marketing, and operations teams to introduce innovative products that enhance our menu offering.
  3. Supplier & Contract Management: Identify, onboard, and manage suppliers, ensuring compliance with BRG’s standards.
  4. Cost Management: Lead supplier negotiations and manage rebate programs to optimize costs while maintaining quality.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to align category strategies with business objectives.
  6. Market & Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activity to drive category performance.

Who We're Looking For

  1. Proven experience in procurement within the food and beverage sector, ideally in a fast-paced food service environment.
  2. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable commercial terms.
  3. Expertise in procurement systems and processes.
  4. Ability to develop and execute category plans while ensuring fulfilment against supply agreements.
  5. Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  6. Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  7. Project management expertise with the ability to juggle multiple priorities across various brands.
  8. Willingness to travel within the UK to visit restaurants and suppliers.
  9. CIPS qualification preferred but not essential.
