As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, we are preparing to undertake our largest project yet. This is a unique opportunity to drive industry change, set global standards, and foster career growth.

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager (Procurement) to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing portfolio and procurement strategies that align with our business objectives. This strategic position will focus on optimising performance across our framework and non-framework supply chain partners, ensuring efficiency, innovation, and value delivery at every stage of execution.

What you'll be doing

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and implement sourcing agreements in collaboration with Anglian Water.
  • Aggregate demand to align with business needs, leveraging the supply chain to drive innovation and a "Best for Task" approach.
  • Establish and implement SMART objectives and key performance measures (KPMs) with supply chain partners to ensure on-time delivery and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of market trends and risks (financial and capacity) within relevant categories to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct regular 360° stakeholder reviews to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for value-added initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with solution teams to ensure the right supply chain capabilities are in place to exceed delivery and procurement objectives.
  • Ensure all commercial requirements are met, audited, and optimised to enhance overall commercial performance within the Alliance.
  • Uphold and implement SHEA (Safety, Health, Environment & Assurance) standards across all procurement activities.

  • CIPS qualification and membership (or equivalent) with proven expertise in a senior procurement or sourcing role.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a commitment to integrity, accountability, and team development.
  • A strategic, commercially focused approach with a customer-centric mindset, capable of translating high-level strategies into operational success.
