Our high-tech manufacturing client is a global leader across multiple bespoke product areas which support their customers in a number of complex operational environments.
The Role
You will join a diverse and fast-paced international team as Category Manager for Travel & Communications where you will lead on all aspects of category spend across the international group. On Travel, the group has extensive and geographically diverse travel needs across Europe as well as the Americas, Middle and Far East. You will be an integral partner within the Business community, collaborating closely with Travel Management companies and Online Booking Tool providers, car rental firms, airlines, hotel chains, plus also venue finding agencies. The goal is to ensure the needs of business travellers are met whilst also considering how to develop Environmental, Social and Governance commitments. On Communications, the group's requirements include print and digital communications as well as trade shows, exhibitions, or corporate events management both nationally and internationally. You will act as an extension to the Communications team working with various suppliers commodities: photographic and video, digital media, and event management, international exhibitions related activities.
What they're looking for
The appointed candidate will have a demonstrable track record of commercial delivery, success, and achievement in Procurement, Sourcing, or Category Management roles. You must have some level of experience delivering "Travel" spend career to date as this Category area is the higher percentage of role over Communications; of course, it is beneficial if a candidate also has experience in Communications but it isn't a must-have. To reassure the successful candidate does not have to be a dedicated "Travel" procurement specialist, the hiring business is happy to consider "Indirect / Business" Procurement professionals who have potentially worked in a more generalist capacity across several indirect categories career to date e.g. legal, marketing, communications, logistics, FM etc.
