Category Manager

The Business
Our client is a global leader in a number of high quality product and service areas within the pharmaceutical sector with expertise across development, manufacture, marketing and sales for a worldwide customer base.

The Role
You will be Category Manager for Contract Research Organizations (CRO) & Lab Services, delivering a key role in the Global Procurement Team that sits within the Supply Chain function and reporting into the Head of Indirect Procurement. You will be responsible for leading, managing and optimising procurement processes for Indirect Services including R&D, Quality and regulatory affairs. This is an exciting procurement challenge where you will establish, develop and deliver a new Category that will oversee a global supplier base covering an anticipated spend of £60 million.

What they're looking for
The candidate will have demonstrable track record of success in Procurement, Sourcing or Category Management roles with specific experience in managing CRO and / or lab services suppliers, ideally delivered within pharmaceutical manufacturing organisations. Key competencies from your career to date will include a strategic approach, strong negotiation and supplier management skills, goal and objective oriented mindset and an ability at adapt & respond to evolving commercial objectives.
