Do you have an interest in the environment, water and agriculture? Do you enjoy working outdoors in the countryside, on farms and within water catchment areas? Would you like to combine these interests and promote sustainable land management practices across the picturesque region? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our team as a Catchment Adviser!
As part of a small team of Catchment Advisers, your role is to identify and report catchment risks to water quality (groundwater and surface water) and advise how these risks can be mitigated as part of the Catchment Drinking Water Safety Plan (DWSP) team.
You will help mitigate these risks by working with and advising farmers/landowners across our region to ensure the water quality at our sources is excellent and improve the ecological status of local watercourses.
You will report these risks to the Operational Science and Production teams, maintaining a risk and compliance database.
You will also liaise with the Catchment Delivery team to enable prioritisation and targeted catchment management activity where required.
You will be an established agricultural/environment/catchment adviser with more than three years of experience in relevant roles with an enthusiasm for sustainable land management and risk reduction.
You will be self-sufficient, have a wealth of agricultural expertise and experience, and be an excellent communicator who is confident talking to and dealing with the farming community and other relevant stakeholders.
