Chy is a residential rehabilitation unit in Truro, providing drug, alcohol and mental health treatment services to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. We have an 18-bed main property and a further 8 beds in a block of flats on the grounds that are used as 'move on' accommodation for those with more specific therapeutic needs.
You will be joining a team of passionate people, with the opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of person-centred counsellors and a psychoanalytic art therapist. As a Residential Support Worker, you will support our residents to engage in activities that develop their independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and most importantly, learning to have fun in their sobriety. There will be the opportunity to co-facilitate workshops around basic life skills and goal-setting.
WithYou provides free and confidential support, without judgement, to more than 100,000 people every year experiencing challenges with drugs, alcohol and mental health across England and Scotland. Our name reflects who we are - a positive place where people can progress, connect with others and get friendly, expert help in a way that's right for them. Our staff team changes lives. If you're passionate about helping people get the support they need for issues with drugs, alcohol and mental health, we'd love to hear from you.
We are looking for casual members of staff to work shifts as and when required by the service. More information on hours will be given at the interview. Commitment to work flexible and unsocial hours including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep ins (as required), is essential.
All applicants need to submit a CV and a covering letter on why you should be considered for this role. Applications will not be accepted if no covering letter is included. Please note that this role may close early should sufficient applications be received, so early application is advised.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working or volunteering with substance misuse clients ideally in a residential setting.
