Are you a compassionate individual with a deep commitment to fostering spiritual well-being within a correctional environment? We are currently seeking a dedicated Pagan Chaplain to join our team at HMP Peterborough.
Salary: Up to £7,590.96 per annum depending on experience
Working hours: 6hrs per week, casual
Location: HMP Peterborough
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities, and duties:
- Supporting prisoners of all faiths through facilitating religious prayers and teachings.
- Participating in team meetings and other establishment meetings when necessary.
- Performing generic chaplaincy duties including applications, new receptions, visiting prisoners in Separation and Care, and in the healthcare centre when necessary and appropriate.
- Helping prisoners prepare for release by guiding them with faith.
- Ensuring prisoners are provided with a range of opportunities to reduce re-offending and change their lives for the better.
- Working together to create an ordered and caring community where individuals can discover and practice their religion and develop and strengthen appropriate links with their family and faith communities.
- Caring for prisoners with humanity, with the prevention of incidents of violence, suicide, and self-harm.

What we are looking for:
- Proven and continued member of the Pagan Federation as the endorsing body or other eligible grove/coven by the Pagan Symposium.
- Reference or evidence-based training within the Pagan Community.
- Experience of working in a similar role.
- Faith/Belief Eligibility Requirements for Pagan chaplains.
- Great ability to work with people of different ethnicities.
- Ability and willingness to work with clergy and volunteers of different faith backgrounds.
- High level of interpersonal skills including assertiveness and self-motivation.
- The ability to challenge inappropriate behaviour.
