Job description

Term: Casual Hours (Varied & Flexible – Hours of work may be within afternoons, evenings, and weekends.)

Sheffield United Community Foundation is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated person to support the Foundation’s brand-new Disability Sport project.

Responsibilities:

  1. Physical Education: Plan and deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons within Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools and Internal Resource Units (IRs).
  2. Ensure all sessions are inclusive, engaging, and designed to develop students’ skills across a range of sports.
  3. Adapt content to suit individual needs, promoting physical literacy and enjoyment.

Community Activities:

  1. Support and lead inclusive community sports sessions.
  2. Create a positive, enjoyable environment that encourages participation and engagement with Sheffield United Community Foundation.
  3. Promote a sense of belonging and community through sport.

Para Football Sessions:

  1. Deliver football sessions in partnership with Sheffield & Hallamshire FA for players with specific impairments: Cerebral Palsy, Visual Impairments (Blind and Partially Sighted), Deafness, and Powerchair users.
  2. Focus on player development, providing tailored coaching that supports individual progress and performance.
  3. Foster a safe and supportive learning atmosphere.

Sports Camps:

  1. Ensure that all activities are engaging, inclusive, and fun.
  2. Assist with the planning and delivery of inclusive sports camps during school holidays.
  3. Provide children and young people aged 8 to 15 with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy sport, develop technical skills, and build confidence.
