The Opportunity
Strong, friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic Cashier/Sales Advisor wanted to work in our Elephant Park Store. Great customer service skills and a keen eye for detail are prerequisites for this role. Must be well presented, outgoing and friendly, able to quickly build a good rapport with customers. Training and support will be given in order to develop or acquire the knowledge to assist our extensive and varied customer base.

  • Working hours will include weekends as required
  • Shifts will be from 4 – 6 Hours, usually between 11 am and 5 pm
  • We will consider part-time applicants
  • The starting rate is £11.54 per hour
  • Flexible contract

You will be based across our London Garden Centres so may be called upon to work in any of our stores (Opening times vary).

Responsibilities
You will support the Store Management in the daily operations of the store which includes but is not limited to:

  • Handle transactions with customers
  • Scan goods and collect payments
  • Ensure pricing is correct
  • Redeem vouchers and gift cards
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
  • Bag items carefully
  • Greet customers when entering or leaving the establishment
  • Maintain clean, tidy and well-stocked till areas
  • Process returns (with the assistance of a supervisor) and check to see if items are damaged
  • Answer customers' questions and get a manager if the answer doesn't solve the issue
  • Gift wrap items
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Keep the shop clean & tidy
  • Ensuring the retail space is presentable and safe for customers
  • Stock management including watering and care of plants
  • Any other ad hoc duties as requested by the management

Experience, Skills And Traits Required

  • Plant knowledge is helpful but a healthy interest is essential as you will be expected to improve your knowledge whilst working with us
  • Be confident, friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic
  • You will be passionate about delivering exceptional levels of customer service
  • You will be obsessively organised, tidy and have an eye for detail
  • You will be flexible in your approach and open to trying new things
