Job Description

Join our team as a Business Manager and play a pivotal role in optimizing business performance by driving key initiatives. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with senior management to address strategic and tactical objectives, ensuring our business remains at the forefront of the industry.
As a Cash Equities Trading Business Manager in our team, you will act as a trusted advisor and counterweight to Business/Group Heads, responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. This dynamic role varies across different lines of business, aligning with their priorities. You will assist senior management in coordinating the deployment of corporate resources to achieve strategic goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Implement new business strategies, strategic initiatives, or platforms, aligning department and support groups (Finance, Tech, Ops, Legal, Compliance).
  2. Optimize 'bottom line' business performance by driving key initiatives (fees, cost base, RWA, and capital utilization).
  3. Identify, escalate, and mitigate business risks that could impair our ability to do business, such as legal, tax, regulatory, capacity issues, and extraordinary transaction costs.
  4. Analyze financial performance, including expenses; identify productivity initiatives and drive implementation.
  5. Partner with the business, Operations, and Technology in defining future workflows and implementing related technology and infrastructure projects to meet evolving market requirements.
  6. Collaborate with relevant external service/infrastructure providers.
  7. Represent the business in respective internal/external working groups.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related area.
  2. Previous product knowledge and/or prior Business Management or COO experience.
  3. Energetic and dynamic in style.
  4. Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  5. Ability to present well to senior and global business heads.
  6. Strong internal relationship-building skills across a broad range of functions.
  7. Self-motivated, tenacious, and able to work independently.
  8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  9. Ability to define and deliver a strategic agenda across multiple groups.
  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely.
  11. Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  12. Attention to detail with a logical thought process.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  1. Experience in regulated environments.
  2. Familiarity with compliance and legal regulations.
  3. Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
