This job is aimed at enthusiastic experienced carpentry professionals who want to share and guide the next generation of carpentry professionals and get their foot into the education sector. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a FE college if you wish to progress to a lecturer or assessor in the future - teaching and assessing qualifications may be offered to you down the line.

The Ideal Carpentry Technician will be responsible for:
  • Supporting students in the completion of their practical work under the direction of members of the teaching staff and being committed to promoting the college's commitment to best practice in equality.
  • Maintaining the construction workshops and associated equipment and providing support to students and staff.
  • Responsibilities for stock control and monitoring.
The Ideal Carpentry Technician will need:
  • Level 2 carpentry qualification - minimum.
  • Practical experience within the industry.
  • Availability for 3 - 5 days a week.
  • The ability to engage different learners through a range of teaching resources.
  • An enhanced DBS issued within the last 6 months or on the update service.
