Job description

Our client based in Peterborough is looking for 1x Carpentry production operatives for factory based work. Immediate starts available.

2nd fix experience with carpentry/joinery is necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to join a warm and welcoming family run company for ongoing work.

£15 p/h PA-YE
Working Monday to Thursday 7am to 5.30pm. Regular Friday overtime available.

Own Tools preferred but company will supply all tools required.

Experience:

Essential:

  1. Worked as part of a team where good communication skills are essential.
  2. Complying with and upholding Company policies and Industry best practice.
  3. Capability across a good range of the following areas: 1st & 2nd fix carpentry; door hanging; cutting roof trusses; drywall and lining; cladding; roofing; flooring; kitchen fitting; cabinet making; window fitting; plumbing; tiling; painting and decorating.

Desirable:

  1. Previous experience of working professionally in the construction/woodworking industry.
  2. Experienced in safe use of hand-tools, air pressure tools, various saws, drills and pneumatic equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Approach day to day work in line with the Company vision and values.
  2. Work with colleagues to use woodworking knowledge and skills to construct buildings to plan and required specifications.
  3. Ability to objectively assess own work to ensure that it reaches required quality standards.
  4. Undertake duties and tasks as set, working both safely and efficiently with minimum wastage.
  5. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work.
Role Requirements:
  1. Takes instructions and communicate clearly in spoken English.
  2. Core woodworking and general maintenance ability with an aptitude for learning relevant skills.
  3. Interprets plans and written instructions.
  4. Transfers learning and experience across roles and/or industry sectors.
  5. Can work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
