Hertfordshire County Council is a leading local authority with a highly regarded Gypsy Section. You'll be taking on a diverse range of projects which promote Hertfordshire as an innovative, efficient authority with a commitment to helping to keep people healthy and safe, and to growing the economy.
You will be required to attend the council's various sites throughout Hertfordshire county, supporting a number of traveller sites. You will have responsibility for the general housekeeping, upkeep and maintenance of the buildings and grounds.
You must have an understanding of the building industry, with skills and experience of plumbing, decorating, and general maintenance. A full driving licence and vehicle with business insurance are essential for this role. The ideal candidate would have an electrician qualification and HGV license; however, this is not essential.
Alongside your standard hours, you will be added to the on-call rota. Additional payment will be made for the occasions you are called out.
Please note that this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, required for safeguarding purposes.
