Job description

Job Title: Caretaker

Actual Salary: £10,706 per annum

Work Pattern: 2 days per week. Split shift: 7 am - 11.30 am, 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm.

Hours: 15 per week, full year contract

Based: Coppice Primary Academy, Burlington Avenue, Oldham OL8 1AP

Closing Date: Monday 21st April 2025 (5pm)

Interview Date: Tuesday 29th April 2025

About this Role:

Coppice Primary Academy is seeking to recruit a Caretaker to work 2 days per week. The role will be a split shift, 7 am - 11.30 am and 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm. The contract will be temporary, ending 31/8/2026. Responsibilities include:

  1. Locking and unlocking the premises.
  2. Maintaining the security of the academy throughout the day.
  3. Ensuring a clean, tidy, well-maintained, and safe environment at all times.
  4. Reporting defects and carrying out regular site checks.
  5. Liaising with and escorting contractors whilst on site.

The successful candidate will need to be a team player who can multi-task effectively and develop good working relationships with all staff. They should be helpful and welcoming to parents, visitors, and contractors while ensuring that school expectations are met. Basic knowledge of ICT, particularly the use of emails and the internet, is required. The ability to drive would be useful.
