You will be required to work 34 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.

The Oasis Youth Centre in Dumfries is a vibrant and welcoming space dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn, grow, and thrive. We offer a variety of programmes and activities designed to engage young people in positive, enriching experiences.

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the youth centre, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff.

This role is integral to the smooth operation of our facility and the overall well-being of the young people we work with.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitising all areas of the youth centre.
• Maintain the exterior of the building, including basic gardening, litter removal, and ensuring pathways are safe.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Monitor the condition of the facility and report any major maintenance issues to the Youth Development Worker.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, including regular fire alarm checks and emergency exit maintenance.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events and activities.
• Assist in managing supplies and inventory, ensuring cleaning products and tools are adequately stocked.
• Provide a friendly and approachable presence for Youth Centre users, offering assistance and guidance when needed.

The hours of work are variable to be worked flexibly in accordance with lets, which can include evenings and weekends. You will also be required to work alone, or as part of a team.

A current Driving Licence would be desirable.
