Are you an experienced caregiver with a passion for supporting individuals with autism? Do you thrive in challenging environments and find fulfilment in making a positive impact on others’ lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Caregiver.

William Blake House is a values-driven charity delivering person-centred care and support to adults with severe learning disabilities.

About You & Qualifications:

  1. Enthusiastic with a strong desire to help people (Essential)
  2. Hold a full Driving Licence (Essential)
  3. Must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship. (Essential)
  4. Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 or Equivalent (Essential)
  5. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a caregiver, with a significant focus on supporting neurodivergent individuals.
  6. Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to advocating for individuals with disabilities and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide personalised care and support to neurodivergent individuals, including those who may exhibit challenging behaviours.
  2. Utilise your vast experience and expertise to develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  3. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being.

What You Need to Know:

  1. In this role there is no such thing as a typical client or a typical day.
  2. Every person you care for is an individual with their own personal needs and personality, and your care will need to be tailored to meet these needs.
  3. This is a very rewarding and varied job where you are a vital person in the life of the people we support so they can lead as independent and fulfilled lives as possible.
  4. Whilst it would be an advantage to have previous experience, it’s not essential - we are looking for people who have a caring nature and want to provide a great service to the people we support.

You will be a valued member of staff working in one of our four homes located in rural locations around Northamptonshire; where you will be expected to aid the people we support providing the highest standards of respect and care thereby enabling safety and independence.

Examples of the Needs You Will Be Supporting With:

  1. Assisting clients with personal care tasks.
  2. Performing light housekeeping tasks.
  3. Observing, monitoring and record-keeping.
  4. Accompanying the people we support on trips/holidays.
  5. Preparing and enacting care plans.
  6. Providing support with hobbies and social activities.
