Location: Blackburn with Darwen, UK

Salary: SCP 15 - 24 £29,093 - £34,314 FTE (£25,665 - £30,217 Actual Pro Rata Salary)

Education Phase: Secondary

Working Pattern: Full-Time - We offer flexible working opportunities and will consider 2 x Part-time positions as well as Full-time applications

Contract Type: Permanent

About The Role

An opportunity has arisen to join the national team employed by Aldridge Education as CIAG Careers Advisor. We are looking for a self-motivated, innovative Careers Advisor covering Darwen Aldridge Community Academy, Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio, and Darwen Vale High School. Regular travel between sites will be required.

As a key member of the Personal Development team, you will guide young people in making successful, aspirational plans for their next steps. Responsibilities include arranging, conducting, and recording careers meetings across all age groups, and supporting the Careers Leader with career-related activities to support the strategic careers plan.

You will lead on 1-2-1 careers meetings, group work with younger students, and some work supporting parents/careers. You will also work alongside sixth form teams to ensure pupils are ready for their next steps with university, apprenticeships, or employment. There will be careers events both in person and virtually, and you may be required to support with these.

This new position welcomes individuals who can bring their own ideas to positively contribute to the career's education of all pupils. The role is term time + INSET + 1 Week including results days (40 weeks), with negotiation around additional weeks/full-time for candidates able to offer additional careers-related services to schools.
