SALARY: £30,599 - £34,314 per annum + Excellent Benefits
LOCATION: Hybrid role – face-to-face careers guidance appointments offered in community locations across the borough on multiple days a week, along with opportunities to work from home and from the office in Wokingham.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Careers Adviser / Post 16 Tracking Officer with an IAG qualification and Careers Guidance / Employability experience, who has worked with vulnerable young people, is required for the NEET Prevention Team. Working as the Careers Adviser / Post 16 Tracking Officer you will join the NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Prevention Team undertaking tracking calls to young people, careers guidance interviews and interactions with other professionals in multi-agency meetings, whilst holding an individual caseload of young people. As the Careers Adviser / Post 16 Tracking Officer you will play a key role in providing information, advice and guidance (IAG) and support to unemployed young people aged 16-17 years, and up to 24 years for those with SEND, on a range of career, employment and learning opportunities which will enable them to progress.
DUTIES
- Provide information, advice and guidance to unemployed young people aged 16-17 and up to 24 for those with SEND (Special Educational Needs or Disabilities), from a variety of settings across the borough, helping them to identify and overcome barriers preventing them from entering education, employment or training.
- Provide information, advice and guidance to young people who are at risk of NEET to help them make a successful transition from education into adult life.
- Track the progress of young people through tracking calls and intervene when required to offer support and guidance.
- Establish a knowledge of and good working relationships with local opportunity providers and support services to better advise and support young people into employment education or training.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 (previously Grade C) or equivalent.
- You will either have a Level 6 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or have a Level 4 IAG qualification with the willingness to undertake a Level 6 IAG Apprenticeship.
- Significant experience of working with young people, committed to providing excellent guidance and support.
- Ability to conduct effective one-to-one intervention with young people who are unemployed or at risk of unemployment.
- Ability to effectively use assessment tools to identify risk and needs of young people.
- Relevant experience of working directly with vulnerable young people.
- Experience of representing a service at multi-agency meetings and making effective contributions.
