Working as part of the Nottingham College careers team, we believe that every individual deserves the chance to pursue their dreams. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional guidance and support, helping clients navigate their career paths with confidence and clarity.
If you’re ready to embark on a rewarding journey where you can inspire and empower others on their next steps in education, training, or employment, we want to hear from you!
You will work alongside a passionate team of careers professionals who share your commitment to making a difference. Along the way, you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and advance your career.
You should be an experienced, motivational, enthusiastic, and flexible Careers Adviser who can support the delivery of our college careers strategy, enable services to meet the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks, and work collaboratively with colleagues across the college curriculum and professional service teams to maintain our quality assurance standard through Matrix.
In this fast-paced role, you should enjoy working with a wide range of students to support and guide them through various careers education experiences and aid their progression into higher education and employment. You should have a broad range of experience working with young people and adults across all levels of education, both 1:1 and in group settings to deliver careers guidance.
In this role, you will deliver services face-to-face on any of our campuses, with telephone and/or virtual delivery through Teams available to suit the needs of your clients. You will also engage and utilize digital platforms to ensure the service reaches the maximum number of clients.
You will work closely with curriculum managers, heads of student experience, personal development leads, and the college Careers Leader to create inspiring careers education activities, including careers events for students, ensuring that they meet individual needs and aspirations. A passion for providing a high-quality careers guidance service is essential, and some experience working with vulnerable learners and learners with SEN would be advantageous to support transitions into further study or work.
You will be expected to design and deliver high-quality group sessions to a wide range of clients and have detailed knowledge of relevant developments in careers education, as well as up-to-date knowledge of local labor markets and issues relating to learning and employment.
