Job description

Join Protocol Education as a Care Support Worker in Special Needs Schools across Sunderland, South Tyneside, or Gateshead.

Are you a teaching assistant with a background in the care sector? This opportunity allows you to apply your skills in the dynamic world of special needs education. You'll have the chance to work in schools that serve students at the primary, secondary, and post-16 levels, each with their own unique needs. As a Care Support Worker, you'll engage in one-to-one support and work with entire classes, making a meaningful impact on the students you support.

Your Role Includes:

  • Developing sensory awareness and enhancing motor skills
  • Providing individualised care as per care plans
  • Teaching vocabulary and fostering speech and language development
  • Facilitating creative lessons such as art, cooking, music, and dance
  • Supporting social and cognitive growth in students

Key Details:

  • Full-time Position: Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
  • Contract: Secure a year-long contract with potential for extension
  • One-to-One Support: Provide personalised support for students with diverse needs
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work alongside dedicated teachers and staff
  • Residential Opportunities: Option to work in the school's residential centre for a more immersive experience
