Job description

Care Assistant – Bournemouth - £13 per hour inc holiday pay - Various shifts available

Platinum Recruitment is seeking compassionate and dedicated temporary Care Assistants to join a leading healthcare provider in Bournemouth. You will play a crucial role in supporting adults with diverse needs, including mental health, dementia, and behavioural challenges, in a residential and respite setting.

An enhanced DBS certificate will be required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assisting residents with daily living activities such as personal care (washing, dressing, toileting), mobility, and mealtimes.
  2. Providing emotional support and companionship to residents, including engaging in social activities and conversations.
  3. Observing and reporting any changes in residents' health and well-being to the Registered Manager.
  4. Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  5. Following all care plans and company policies and procedures.
  6. Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Promoting independence and dignity for all residents.
  8. Contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.
  9. Collaborating effectively with colleagues, families, and other professionals.
  10. Working flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in a care home setting (desirable but not essential).
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Genuine compassion and empathy for the elderly.
  4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  5. Good time management and organisational skills.
  6. Reliable and punctual.
  7. Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
  1. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  2. Experience in working with residents living with dementia.
  3. Medication administration training.
