Carbon Specialist ( Reduction Strategies )

Decarbonising a major infrastructure project is the key activity of this Carbon Specialist, rather than part of the infrastructure build process. Working on strategy and theory, the Carbon Specialist at the Client will scrutinise the construction and manufacturing plans of Tier 1 suppliers and the whole supply chain, reviewing the lifecycle assessments of the works, holding the supply chain to account, and sharing best practice.

The project is huge, so you will use your knowledge to share best practices and decide where to look, explore, and challenge practices.

The journey to net zero is a critical goal for this infrastructure owner, and you will have influence in your role. Ideally, you will work with the Carbon Managers at third-party organisations across the vast supply chain, collaborating to ensure plans to reduce carbon are carried out. Due to the timescales involved, technology and techniques will improve and evolve, so the ability to undertake change management is critical.

Knowledge of PAS 2080, Carbon management, Whole Life Carbon Assessment, and Value Chain integration is helpful. FIEMA accreditation is advantageous.

This is a learning and development role; the client will educate you further in your carbon management knowledge. The skills and lessons learned on this project at a decision-making and influence-leading position will hopefully be evident.
