Job description

Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.

Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

Are you organised, detail-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? Are you ready to play a key role in supporting capital project delivery across a major production function? We’re looking for a proactive and confident individual to join our team and help keep things moving behind the scenes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Capital Administrator to join our team.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As a Capital Projects Support Coordinator, you’ll be the go-to person ensuring all capital block activities in our Production area are managed seamlessly — from purchase order to capitalisation. You’ll collaborate with a range of stakeholders, from Project Managers to Asset Data Management, to keep everything on track and compliant.

You’ll raise and receipt purchase orders, manage month-end true-ups, and ensure capitalisation is completed on time. This is a hands-on, varied role where your SAP expertise and stakeholder management skills will really shine.

Some of your key accountabilities will include:

  1. Manage SAP Capital project transactions, including WBS set-up, funding releases, and reconciliations
  2. Raise and receipt purchase orders with accuracy and urgency
  3. Ensure project capitalisation is completed accurately and promptly
  4. Liaise with Production teams, Asset Data Management, and Capital Accounting to gather and verify essential information
  5. Maintain SharePoint and SRQ pages to ensure processes are followed
  6. Resolve outstanding queries working with contractors and internal stakeholders

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We’re looking for someone with excellent planning and time management skills, who thrives under pressure and knows how to juggle priorities in a busy team environment. You’ll have top-notch communication skills, both written and verbal, and be confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Your SAP expertise, ideally within capital projects, will be key — and you’ll bring the drive and organisation needed to keep things moving smoothly and on time. If you’re proactive, people-savvy, and ready to make an impact, we want to hear from you.

Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity, and a caring attitude in equal weight.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do. And when it comes to inclusion, we’re making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity, who help us do just that.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We’ll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.

With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite perks that you’ll get being part of the Severn Trent family:

  1. 25 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/ sell up to 5 days per year)
  2. Annual bonus scheme (of up to £1,500 per annum based on company performance)
  3. Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
  4. Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
  5. Dedicated training and development with our ‘Academy’
  6. Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
  7. Family friendly policies
