Job description

We are looking for dynamic psychological professionals who are passionate about helping young people and their families. We have several vacancies within our SETCAMHS Locality Teams across mid and South Essex and our Eating Disorder Service. Successful candidates will be joining a service that is well-established and innovative.

The role of the Clinical Lead is to develop and oversee the needs-led evidence-based clinical model based on the CYP IAPT principles and the iTHRIVE framework. This will include ensuring the delivery of co-produced, personalised, formulation-driven care, including its efficacy and effectiveness.

Successful candidates will be interested in leading clinical improvements within the service and in co-working with operational managers and partner agencies to deliver the highest standards of care. Clinical Leads are expected to support and develop the workforce through supervision, consultation, and training, as well as to share their expertise within MDT and leadership meetings while holding a small caseload of young people with more complex needs.

Significant knowledge and experience of the principal evidence-based psychological therapies within CAMHS, such as CBT, Family Therapy, DBT, and other psychotherapeutic approaches is essential. An awareness of trauma and attachment presentations is also desirable.

For the Clinical Lead post within the Eating Disorder Service, significant knowledge and experience of the principal evidence-based psychological therapies for eating disorders, such as FT-AN, FT-BN, and CBT-ED is essential. In addition, successful candidates will have experience of collaborative working across schools, hospitals, social care, and other agencies to improve pathways for young people with eating disorders.

Successful candidates will belong to a supportive Directorate of Psychological Professions with a range of opportunities for leadership and career development and will receive clinical supervision.

Starting with NELFT, NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

COVID-19 Vaccination: We continue to encourage all staff to ensure that they have been double vaccinated and received their booster. We recognize that taking the vaccine provides the best defense against COVID-19 for our patients, our staff, and their families.

Probationary Period: This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

SET CAMHS has adopted the iTHRIVE Framework, which provides a set of principles for improving mental health and wellbeing support for children, young people, and families, with SET CAMHS working in partnership with HCRG Care Group to deliver service to children and young people. The THRIVE Framework is needs-led, meaning that mental health needs are defined by the children, young people, and their families, alongside professionals, through shared decision making.
