  • As residential post: Monthly allowance of £779.20, all rent, bills and food included. As non-residential island based post: salaried position at salary band C £24,716. Fixed term, (1st June – 31st October 2025).

Role

Under the guidance of the Islands Estate Manager, the Camas Maintenance Worker’s role is to undertake general maintenance work on the facilities and equipment at the Camas Centre and occasionally on Iona.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the Camas facilities and equipment are maintained to a safe and high standard, while observing Camas’ environmental and ethical policies. Facilities include the Camas buildings, grounds and track.
  • Coordinating and supervising visitors and volunteers in routine maintenance work.
  • Liaising with and working alongside outside contractors where necessary.
  • Supporting maintenance projects on Iona where required.

About the Iona Community Trading CIC

The Iona Community Trading CIC is seeking two Directors to join our Board. As the trading arm of the Iona Community, we are committed to justice, peace, and ethical retail. We run two separate businesses, a shop on the island of Iona and a small Christian publishing company called Wild Goose Publications. All profits generated from these businesses are used to support the charitable works of the Iona Community.

Government Relations Officer Role

An exciting short-term opportunity (6 months, with potential for extension) has arisen at the University of Glasgow for a talented Government Relations Officer to play a key role in developing and delivering the University’s engagement with government, political stakeholders, and policymakers.

This role will help shape the University’s reputation in public policy and government affairs, ensuring alignment with its strategic objectives. Sitting within the Principal’s Office, you will work closely with senior leaders, academics, and external stakeholders to ensure the University’s voice is heard at Westminster, Holyrood, and in local government.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring political and policy developments
  • Coordinating political visits and events
  • Drafting high-quality briefings and submissions
  • Supporting colleagues in engaging with policymakers
  • Maintaining effective planning and engagement processes

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong communication and event management skills, political awareness, and experience in public affairs or government relations. If you are passionate about policy engagement, event delivery, and influencing decision-making at the highest levels, we encourage you to apply. This role will be based at the Gilmorehill Campus, with an expectation of on-campus presence 3 days per week.

This post is full time and fixed term for 6 months from start date.
