The Role
This Position Will Involve Carrying Out The Following Tasks, And Includes Working With a Team Of Engineers, CETs, EITs, And Other Technical Professionals, To Achieve This:
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and produce functional, preliminary, and detailed design drawings for a wide variety of roads, sewer and watermain and land development projects;
- Preparation of detailed engineering drawings for private & municipal projects, including plan, profile, and section drawings;
- Proactively advance design techniques and procedures to support designers, project managers and technicians;
- Preparing plan, profile and section drawings and earthwork volumetric calculations;
- Preparing presentation graphics and report figures;
- Coordination of drawings with other design team members and sub consultants;
- Coordination of drawing filing;
- Occasional on-site work as required;
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Knowledge & QualificationsThe following qualifications, experience and skills are required:- Diploma/certificate in Civil Engineering from a civil engineering technology program;
- Foundational proficiency in design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D;
- Experience working as part of a project team in a consulting environment is considered an asset;
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects concurrently;
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;
- Membership, in good standing, with Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), is an asset;
- A valid Ontario driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
