CAD Technician/Technologist

The Role

This Position Will Involve Carrying Out The Following Tasks, And Includes Working With a Team Of Engineers, CETs, EITs, And Other Technical Professionals, To Achieve This:

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and produce functional, preliminary, and detailed design drawings for a wide variety of roads, sewer and watermain and land development projects;
• Preparation of detailed engineering drawings for private & municipal projects, including plan, profile, and section drawings;
• Proactively advance design techniques and procedures to support designers, project managers and technicians;
• Preparing plan, profile and section drawings and earthwork volumetric calculations;
• Preparing presentation graphics and report figures;
• Coordination of drawings with other design team members and sub consultants;
• Coordination of drawing filing;
• Occasional on-site work as required;
• Other duties as assigned.

Professional Knowledge & Qualifications

The following qualifications, experience and skills are required:

• Diploma/certificate in Civil Engineering from a civil engineering technology program;
• Foundational proficiency in design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D;
• Experience working as part of a project team in a consulting environment is considered an asset;
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills;
• Strong oral and written communication skills;
• Ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects concurrently;
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;
• Membership, in good standing, with Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), is an asset;
• A valid Ontario driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
