Job Description: MSC is looking for a CAD Specialist who will support our design department and focus on model development, drawing development, and inspection tasking.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Drafting
Create detailed 2D and 3D designs, layouts, and technical drawings using CAD software.
Develop blueprints, schematics, or models for products, systems, or structures.
Revise designs based on feedback or project requirements.
Collaboration
Work closely with engineers and project managers to understand design specifications.
Coordinate with teams to ensure designs meet functionality, manufacturability, and quality standards.
Technical Documentation
Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including plans, manuals, and specifications.
Update and archive design files according to company protocols.
Analysis and Simulation
Perform design simulations, stress tests, and other analyses to ensure the feasibility of concepts.
Identify and resolve potential design problems or inefficiencies.
Software Proficiency
Operate industry-standard CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
Stay updated with the latest software versions and features.
Customization and Standards
Develop and customize CAD templates, libraries, or macros for repetitive tasks.
Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Training and Support
Provide technical guidance to team members or clients on CAD processes and best practices.
Train new employees on software usage and design standards.
Quality Control
Review and validate designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
Conduct periodic audits of CAD drawings and files.
Adhere to quality control procedures and standards to ensure high-precision output.
Qualifications/Skills:
Proven experience as a CAD Specialist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering field.
Working knowledge of composite materials and laminated construction (desired).
Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering design and analysis tools (e.g., ABAQUS, ANSYS, or similar).
Fundamental understanding of engineering analysis, manufacturing, and test methods and equipment.
Time management and organization skills.
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.

Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
