CAD Engineer

Introduction

Our client, a leading company in the energy sector, is currently seeking a skilled CAD Engineer to join their team. As a CAD Engineer, you will play a crucial role in producing accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs provided by the Preconstructions Teams and designers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Produce as-constructed plans to client specification
2. Carry out relevant site visits to establish current information enabling timely submission of as-constructed plans
3. Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied
4. Complete modifications to existing drawings
5. Survey and record civils and cable information
6. Assist Site Engineers in collating information recorded on site
7. Assist in analyzing survey data and editing in required formats
8. Ensure compliance with all company controlled documents and procedures
9. Proactively help to develop new systems to meet changing departmental needs
10. Develop good working relationships and maintain close liaison with clients
11. Maintain a high standard of quality work

Job Requirements

1. SSE / DNO Experience (Preferred)
2. Understanding of SSE Drawing practices from LV up to 132kV
3. Understanding the purpose and use of GPS/EDM surveying equipment
4. Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to create and read technical drawings
5. Ability to analyze problems and offer solutions
6. Resourcefulness and ability to work under pressure
7. Prioritization and responsibility skills
8. Good communication skills
9. Able to work independently and as part of a team
10. Methodical in working practices
11. Ability to provide support to the tendering and estimating functions
12. Extensive technical knowledge
13. Full UK Driving Licence
