Job Description:

JewelCast is primarily a casting company specialising in high quality precious metal castings. In addition to this we offer an exciting range of in-house CAD design, 3D printing and mould cutting services.

This year we will be launching JewelCast Bespoke where we will be offering a complete bespoke service from CAD design through to the finished jewellery item including stone setting and polishing.

JewelCast is located in a beautifully restored building in the heart of Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter, featuring modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment in each department.

About the Role

We are looking for a CAD designer with 2+ years jewellery industry experience to join our CAD design team! Candidates will need to be able to produce CAD files quickly and efficiently, and to a high standard using MatrixGold/Rhino software.

Knowledge of creating CAD files for jewellery manufacturing and mass production is essential; however, some training can be given.

Responsibilities

1. Creating CAD files for manufacturing by following detailed design briefs.
2. Creating one-off bespoke designs, alongside designs suitable for moulding and mass production.
3. Creating renders and technical drawings.
4. Organising customer files and folders with corresponding references and tracking information.
5. Communicating with customers via email or phone when design/manufacturing advice is needed.
6. Communicating with the finishing department for bespoke orders.
7. Supporting CAD files for 3D printing.

Requirements

1. 2+ years industry experience.
2. Excellent knowledge of Rhino 3D and Matrix/MatrixGold.
3. Understanding of jewellery production and manufacturing for trade.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
5. Ability to communicate efficiently and confidently within a team and with customers.
6. Knowledge of CAD file supporting for 3D printing would be advantageous.
7. Strong organisational skills.
