C++ Software Engineer

Commercially experienced C++ Software Engineer with a broad technical skill set and a good Mathematics understanding will design and develop software for the latest radar, security and surveillance systems. You'll bring a software based degree, proven C++ design experience as well as a range of other software knowledge from UI design, working with SQL and experience with Scripting languages (Python ideal). Of particular interest is experience in the development of security/defence command and control software and using GIS (Geographic Information System) data.

The successful C++ Software Engineer will design and develop software across the company’s radar systems, including external radar control systems and interfaces as well as bringing the ability to improve the software capabilities and enhance the user experience.

Essential Requirements include:

1. Technical Degree with software content.
2. A good understanding of Object-Orientated software design.
3. Proven C++ development skills.
4. Several years proven commercial software design experience.
5. Ability to work directly with end users.

You should also bring experience with some of the following:

1. Working with SQL databases.
2. Experience of effective UI design and UX best practices.
3. Developing security/defence command and control software.
4. Using and manipulating GIS data.
5. An understanding of real-time software design and development.
6. Exposure to Embedded software development.
7. Python or similar scripting languages.
8. Experience with machine learning software techniques.

A competitive salary will be offered up to GBP 60K (depending on your experience and relevant skills) with Hybrid working available (averaging 3 days in office per week) plus good benefits.
