We are working with a global technology organisation at the forefront of industrial software innovation. They develop real-time information systems used in mission-critical operations across energy, marine, and manufacturing sectors, empowering facilities to operate more safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced C++ Software Developer to join their high-performing software engineering team.

The Role

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, you’ll take a lead in designing and implementing complex software components for Microsoft Windows-based information systems. From collaborating on architecture and writing code to mentoring team members and ensuring quality compliance, this is a chance to make a tangible impact in a supportive, engineering-led culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and review advanced software components in C++.

2. Translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-quality applications.

4. Write and maintain white box and unit tests to support continuous integration.

5. Diagnose and resolve issues in production software and support configurations.

6. Contribute to project planning, including time and risk estimation.

7. Mentor junior developers and lead small technical teams when required.

About You

1. Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field

2. 5+ years of professional C++ software development experience

3. Experience with software architecture, testing, and release cycles

4. Skilled in producing functional and design specifications

5. Comfortable working in a structured quality system

6. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

7. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment and tools

Additional strengths

1. Knowledge of Microsoft IDE, DevOps, TFS, or .NET

2. Familiarity with SQL databases, JSON, or OData

3. Experience with modern C++ (C++17 or later)

4. Awareness of emerging trends in software engineering

5. Exposure to cloud-based technologies
