  • 3+ years of experience in estimation and pricing.

Job description

Reporting to: Managing Director (in the interim)

Main Skills: Systematic, Logic Thinker, Efficient, Analytical

Experience: +3 years, Excel, Pricing platforms

Ideal Personality: Conscientiousness, technically minded, self-assured, detailed oriented, organised.

Salary: circa 40,000 depending on experience and skills

Holidays: 25 per year, all bank holidays, discretionary sick leave

The role of the estimator will involve:
  1. Reviewing and understanding tender documents and specifications
  2. Accessing drawings (on numerous platforms i.e. online portals), printing off and saving the relevant drawings, then marking up the drawings to identify our scope of works
  3. Analysing architect plans, elevations, schedules, and NBS specifications to determine client requirements then tailoring our product offerings accordingly.
  4. Using bespoke estimating package
  5. Producing estimate spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
  6. Presenting written quotations for sign off with accompanying marked up drawings.
  7. Understanding contractual requirements and ensuring these are covered in tender prices, offering best value.
  8. Carrying out thorough financial negotiations as required to secure client contracts.
  9. Working effectively with other members of the commercial/technical/sales teams in order to achieve cost effective solutions
  10. Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers
  11. Prioritising own workload and ensuring tender deadlines are met
