Job description

MCG construction are working with a leading construction sub-contractor that specialises in reinforced concrete frames working on a multi-million pound project based in London. We are actively recruiting for an experienced buyer that has concrete experience and ideally, has worked for a reinforced concrete sub-contractor. In this role, the ideal candidate will be involved in pre-tender and tender purchasing of the materials used for site whilst covering Site Procurement, Commercial Project Tendering and National Supply Contracts.

Job specification:

  • Managing high value or risk sections of the project to sourcing, tender, negotiation and contract, whilst implementing procedures for the use of the contract by teams on site.
  • Coinciding with suppliers in order to source products that can save on time and cost.
  • Managing supplier account in aims to maximise efficiency, whilst resolving internal setbacks due to supplier concerns.
  • Identifying key procurement issues across departments, such as cost, installation support, maintenance, additional functions, and client specifications, to prioritise during supplier negotiations.
  • Managing procurement of high-risk products to ensure steady stock availability.
  • Rationalising the UK supplier base and enhancing purchasing leverage through National Supply Contracts for key commodities.
  • Keeping the European Purchasing database updated with UK orders and supplier developments.
