Job description

A dual-role position combining purchasing expertise with engineering knowledge, requiring the individual to effectively manage the procurement of technical products, components, and services while also ensuring that the products meet the necessary engineering specifications. Responsibility for managing supplier relationships, sourcing high-quality materials, and supporting engineering teams in technical assessments and decisions. This role can be fulfilled remotely with presence in our Bristol Offices a couple of times a month.

What will you be doing?

  1. Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to source materials, components, and services.
  2. Procure products and services according to engineering specifications and project requirements, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
  3. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible deals for the company.
  4. Create and track purchase orders, ensuring that deliveries are made in line with project timelines and quality standards.
  5. Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and requirements to ensure alignment with purchase decisions.

What are we looking for?

  1. Strong understanding of engineering principles, technical drawings, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  2. Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and vendors, securing competitive pricing and favourable terms.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments (engineering, procurement, and production).
  4. Experience working for or with ICP's, ECP's, DNO's, IDNO's.
